    I bought this product for my 85 yo grandmother to use for BOTH her cable box and tv. After reading some quick directions I was able to program the remote to turn on and off both devices with the push of ONE, singular POWER button on the remote, as well as operate each device SIMULTANEOUSLY. I chose this remote for its simplicity, essentially BIGGER NUMBERS AND BUTTONS. My grandmother is thrilled and relieved, her tv watching experience is much more manageable, fluid, and less stressful as a result. I made this decision when realizing the new remote she received with her new cable box was way too SMALL, COMPACT, HARD TO READ, AND A HASSLE FOR HER TO USE. This new remote is a lifesaver, does the job! Thanks!

    This seems like a great item for elderly parents with the large buttons as compared to standard remotes. But I was unable to program this for a Xfinity X1 box or standard Comcast Box. In checking the manufacturer website they only show it will work with the Comcast DTA800 boxes. The title of this item on Amazon is very misleading with the first manufacturers listed being Comcast and XFinity.

    I bought this to control 85 year old Dad's new Sony OLED tv. I spent 30 minutes, trying every programming method in the instruction sheet, and it would not work. It would only turn the TV on and off, and control the volume. The other buttons did not work. I came back to the item page to return it, and noticed it says in capital letters the following:

    "2-Device Universal - Works ONLY with 2 Devices. NOTE: THIS REMOTE DOES NOT WORK FOR ONLY A TV. IT MUST BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A TV AND AN EXTERNAL CABLE/SAT/DTA BOX."

    So I saw that now, and it probably explains why its not working. So technically, this was my fault for not noticing this warning. But why it requires two devices to work is beyond me, and probably explains why some other reviewers could not get it to work.

    The controller itself seemed nice. Only compliant was it is almost impossible to get the battery door off. What is it with these cheap products, the designers forgot how to make a battery door??? I see it a lot on cheap "no-name brand" items sold online these days. You have to push the door towards the batteries super super super hard, and then simultaneously slide it down to get the door off.
